Notes from the TOP!

This will be my last letter to the RAOC for the website.  We have been deployed now for over 12 Months and in Iraq for 11 Months and I can gladly say that it is time to go home to our families and friends.

You the soldier have helped shape history and have done a magnificent job.  But, we could not have done it without the great support from our families and friends back home.

The Army, your leaders, and the American people are proud of you and what you have accomplished.  You have every reason to be proud of what you have done.

During the deployment you have faced danger, hardship and sacrifice. Your service and sacrifice will not be forgotten.  Your family and friends have been watching what we’ve done through the TV and other media reports; they know in a large way what you’ve faced.

Once we start re-deploying we are going to be traveling on the Army’s time, not ours.  Please remember to be patient – We are going home.  During our redeployment cycle we will have our two day event in Montevideo and be required to attend the 30 – 60 – 90 training events. Dates TBD.

The two day training in Montevideo will include: reintegration experience, relationships reintegration, challenges of reintegration, combat stress, Employer support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), TRICARE, VA Benefits, Educational Benefits and several other tasks.  In addition, to those tasks we will have sensitive items check and equipment turn-in.  So, when your leave or time off does start, you will be better prepared.

You’ve done a lot, both the Soldier and family! Your Nation and your families are proud of you.  I wanted to let you know up front that you ALL the RAOC soldiers have done a great job!

                                                                                Sincerely,
